 Namo Nani in other word Mt. Gurla Mandata is the neighboring mountain situated close to the sacred mountain Kailash and the Himalayan range of Burang part of Tibet. Made with the six ridges Namo Nani is called the “Angles peak”. Fan shaped ridge in the west and much steeper cliffs in the east and the holy lake Mansarover and Langatse are situated. Gurla Mandata’s base camp is on the glacier at the altitude of 5600m.
This mountain was first climbed by the Sino Japanese Expedition in 1985. Since then only 5 climb have been made till this date. But recently the French Expedition team has climbed this mountain. To reach the summit the way goes via Zalonpa Glacier from the northern slope. Beautiful sparkling lake mansarover and Demond Lake is visible from the top of the Gurla Mandata along with the Kailash peak in its background.
Climbing starts from the Zalanpa Glacier. The huge number of Indian Hindus visits this holy place as pilgrimage Mansarover Lake and the mount Kailash which are on the way to this Gurla Mandata.
