 Previously this peak was famous by the name of Mehra peak with the altitude of 5849m. It is situated north of Kongma La above the Khumbu Glacier just opposite to Lobuje. It is one of the peaks which makes south west of Nuptse between the Khumbu and Nuptse glaciers. Trekkers who visit Nepal in their vacation can sightseeing in Kathmandu and proceed to Langtang trek, Yala peak climbing, Helambu tour, trek to Kyamgjin RI, Mt. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and Ghora tabela are the exciting and the adventurous trekking spots. When you reach the Gorak sheep and see the summit a diamond shaped hanging glacier above a steeply higher rock wall makes the mountains north face.
To climb and reach the summit south approach is more convenient. From the lakes east of the Khongma la small stepped down from the summit in between long and rocky arms which make the ridges of the mountains south and south east. Normal route is provided by the marginal glacier. Another advantage of this trek is to climb Pokhanlde peak which offers you the magnificent scenario of the peak. Mt. Pumori and the Lho Lo in the north can impress you.
