Ganesh
Himal 7429m is one of the beautiful mountains in the 7000m which lies to northwest of Kathmandu valley and east of Langtang Himal. This is easily visible on a clear day from Kathmandu city. Some of the peaks of Ganesh Himal lie on the boarder with Tibet. Although, the peaks are of no height of more than 7500m and Ganesh III 7110m. The highest peak in Ganesh Himal is Ganesh I (Yangra). The first successful ascent took place in 1955 by Franco-Swiss Expedition team via the Southeast Ridge. Ganesh II is notable for its exceptional steep rise above local terrain rising 5800m. from Burhi Gandaki in a horizontal distance of about 16 km. There were several unsuccessful attempts on this peak from 1950s and finally, submitted in 1981 via North east drive and North Face.
