Black Mountain range nearly divides the country in two, running from the north at the Tibetan border to the south, rich in wild life at the sanctuary of Manas. The portion near Pelela pass on highway to east is very picturesque with spacious high valleys of Rukubi, Phobjikha, Gonana and Khotakha. The big monastery of Pema Lingpa lineage at Gangte and small beautiful active Gompa at Gogana are worth visiting. The route follows rich rhododendron forest and typical villages.
Black Mountain Trekking Itinerary
Day 01 Arrive in Kathmandu transfer hotel
Day 02 Rest day at acclimatizing for at Bhutan trek
Day 03 Flight from Kathmandu to Paro overnight hotel
Day 04 Drive from Paro to Thimphu overnight hotel
Day 05 Rest day at sightseeing in traditional cultural heritage program
Day 06 Drive from Thimphu to Punakha and Wangdi overnight hotel
Day 07 Trek start Nitsegang Gompa pass to enter Khotakha valley for a camp
Day 08 From Khotakha to start trek Gogana after crossing Shobjula pass 11,155ft near by Gogna Gumpa at camp
Day 09 From Gogna Gompa to Phobjikha after crossing of Tsele la Pass and camp below Monastery
Day 10 From Monastery to trek start cross the pass on Pele La range and descend to Rukubi village for camp
Day 11 Drive from Rukubi village to Tongsa and then to Bumthang overnight at camp
Day 12 Full day visiting to the Bumthang traditional cultural program
Day 13 Drive from Bumthang to Wangdi
Day 14 Drive from Wangdi to Paro
Day 15 Flight from Paro to Kathmandu
Day 16 Rest day at Kathmandu
Day 17 Departure to your destination
