Bhutan Drukyul Tour - 16 days

Day 01 : Bagdogra to Phuntsholing: The representative of Lhomen Tours & Trekking co. will receive the visitors from Bagdogra airport / siliguri and will transfer to Phuntsholing the border town of Bhutan . The journey is through the west Bengal tea plantation and small town, which takes about 3-4 hours overnight hotel

Day 02 : Phuntsholing to Thimphu: After breakfast visit Kharbandi monastery and continue the journey to Thimphu with lunch stop at Bunakha Jakhang and across the Chacha-la 2,525m. The drive first is through the dense forest of subtropical and after lunch through the conifer forest of Temperate Zone from typical southern Bhutanese Nepalese houses that settled early 1950s to typical Bhutanese houses overnight at hotel

Day 03 : Rest day at sightseeing for Thimphu: After breakfast starts the sightseeing by coach with visit to Zelukha Nunary, national library, handicraft emporium and walk around Thimphu city and drive back to hotel for lunch. After lunch drive to visit Simtokha Dzong the first fort built by Shabdrung who unified the kingdom in 1,627-29, at present houses the school for the study of dzongkha the national language of Bhutan, memorial chorten of late king overnight at hotel.

Day 04 : Thimphu to Punakha: Full day excursion to punakha the ancient capital of Bhutan which is still used as the winter residence for Je-Khenpo, the chief abbot and central monk body and district administration for Punakha. The journey is across the Dochula 3,200m from where one can view Bhutan mountain ranges including Mt. Gangkar Punsum 7,541m the highest mountain in the kingdom. Punakha Dzong can be visited if the monk body is in Thimphu in their summer residence. Lunch is served at wangdi guesthouse and after lunch drive back to Thimphu overnight at hotel.

Day 05 : Thimphu to Paro: Morning after breakfast witness the cultural show for 1 hour by royal dance troop and drive to Thimphu city for last day shopping of souvenir from Bhutan. After lunch, drive to the beautiful valley of Paro following the Thimphu river until confluence (Chunzom) taking the direction following the Paro river. The drive is of 2 hours and overnight at hotel.

Day 06 : Rest day at sightseeing: after breakfast drives to Drugyal Dzong now a ruin fortress once, which repelled the Tibetan invader in 17 th century, from here one can see the peak of Mt. Chomolhari 7,300m on the clear day, and visit a typical Bhutanese farmhouse and drive back to hotel for a lunch and after lunch drive Ta-dzong (watch tower for Paro Dzong) now house the national museum and drive to Paro town for stroll around overnight at hotel.

Day 07 : Flight from Paro to Kathmandu
Day 08 : Rest day at Kathmandu
Day 09 : Departure to your destination

Tour Cost is as following:
1 pax - Euro 138 + Euro 31 + Euro 45 = Euro 214.00 per person
2 pax - Euro 138 + Euro 25 + Euro 45 = Euro 200 per person
3 pax and above - Euro 138 per day per person.

Note:

  • Tuesday visit from surface and on Monday departure by druk-air from Paro to Kathmandu or Delhi.
  • Thursday visit from surface and on Wednesday departure by druk-air paro to Bangkok or Dhaka .
  • The Government of Bhutan has a strict policy to preserve its cultural and traditional values and antiques may not be taken out of the country
  • The Government also requests that visitors not to give sweets, pens etc. to children or distribute medicine to villagers.
  • All foreigners are requested to convert their money to local currency for expenses in Bhutan through authorized moneychangers. Recon version facility is provided at airport on departure.
